Are you disabled, and want to travel to Luxembourg? Rest assured, it is less of a problem than you might think at first. Luxembourg has been making big efforts to bring mobility to all.

For specific queries, you might like to get in touch with:

INFO-HANDICAP asbl
65, Avenue de la Gare
L -1611 Luxembourg

Tel: (+352) 366 466
Fax: (+352) 360 885
email: use web form

A new resource made under the guiding hand of info-handicap is the web site www.welcome.lu. Although many of the downloadable brochures thereon are only available in French and in German it is nevertheless a very useful site (perhaps in conjunction with our own [English-language] brochures), as it contains -among others- a list of museums / attractions that are accessible by wheelchair (covering Luxembourg and Saarland in Germany).

You might also be interested to download a list of accessible accommodation in Luxembourg.

Many a Local Tourist Office can make special arrangements for disabled travellers.

If you want travel around Luxembourg using public transport (especially trains), you might like to get in touch with the Luxembourg Railways (= CFL: Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) at:

CFL
Secretariat Technique Transport
Gare de Luxembourg
Tel: (+352) 4990-3342
Fax: (+352) 4990-4411
email: st-tr-l2@cfl.lu

The mission of this office (located on platform 3 at Luxembourg railway station - open 24 hrs) is to organise travel in the best possible conditions of safety, and to provide information and help wherever possible, with getting yourself and/or your luggage on and off trains. Although they have at their disposal special material to facilitate your travel (eg ramps, etc), they always much appreciate early application so that they can arrange things well in advance (e.g. 24 hour notice would be appreciated).
Should you find yourselves in Luxembourg railway station without having booked any help, please use the yellow telephones all over the station to summon instant aid in getting about the station.

A list of accessible railway stations is at www.welcome.lu or download from our site.

For those organising group tours, you might like to read up our page of Coach Operators in Luxembourg, and/or contact the Association of Bus and Coach Operators: "Fédération luxembourgeoise des exploitants d'autobus et d'autocars": email: info@ccl.dot.lu Tel: (+352) 43 94 44

If you would prefer to use your own car, you might like to know that Luxembourg City has a number of car parking spaces reserved for disabled drivers. We have for you a citymap giving the location of disabled car parking spaces. Please forgive the size of the download (348 861 bytes), much as we tried, we could not reduce it any further without loosing too much precision :-(
You might also like to check our main City map, which shows the (regular) car parkings in Luxembourg City, though not the disabled badge parkings.
