Luxembourg's Border Waters are:   Moselle from Schengen to Wasserbillig Sûre from Wasserbillig to Wallendorf Our from Wallendorf to the three-border point, including the dam lake at Vianden.   Anybody over the age of 14 years wishing to fish in the waters marking the border with Germany, must be the holder of a valid Fishing License. Minors aged between under the age of 14 years may fish without license if they are under the surveillance of an adult license-holder. Fishing Licenses Available from the District Commissioners offices (=Commissariat de District) in Luxembourg-City, Diekirch and Grevenmacher and also from the secretariats of some Borough Administrations (=Secrétariat de Commune). Licenses for the Vianden lake are available from the Société Electrique de l'Our (S.E.O.) and from the "Syndicat d'Initiative et de Tourisme" in Vianden. The licenses allow fishing with one line that must remain under constant surveillance of the fisher. Categories and Tariffs 1) Category A (Moselle, Sûre, Our): Allows fishing from the banks with one fishing line Cost: 15 € /year; 10 €/month; 5 €/week Note: Fishing in the Our requires both a license and a permission of the landlord owning the banks of the river. 2) Category B (Moselle, Sûre): Rights as sub 1) plus fishing from a craft with one line Cost: 40 €/year; 25 €/month; 10 €/week 3) Group day license Allows fishing from the banks for one day and is available for competitions with more than 20 participants Cost: 0.5 € per person 4) License for Vianden Lake The conditions and tariffs are fixed by the Société Electrique de l'Our (S.E.O.) The licence for one year can be ordered for 24.79 € at the S.E.O. 2, rue Pierre d'Aspelt, L-1142 Luxembourg. From 1st of June to 30th September, licenses for tourists: 12.50 € for 2 weeks. Available at the Tourist Office, Maison Victor Hugo, in Vianden.   Fishing Instruments and Methods Sûre and Our: Only one fishing line is allowed Moselle: Two Fishing lines are allowed at most The fishing lines must remain under constant surveillance of the fisher and must not be left unattended. It is Forbidden To catch more than 3 fishes of the salmon family (trout, grayling) and more than one pike per day To fish with the feet in the water, except when fly-fishing in the Sûre To use as bait non native fish species, natural or artificial fish eggs, frogs or crayfish, as well as coloured maggots, to feed with coloured magots To fish at night Night is: a) Between November 1 and March 31: from 7.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m b) Between April 1 and October 31: from 11.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m To fish down- and upstream from the dam at Rosport-Ralingen (Sûre) as well as near the locks of Palzem-Stadtbredimus and Grevenmacher-Wellen (Moselle). These areas are signposted. To fish from islands, bridges or adjacent parts to lock-waters, from dams, bridges or landing stages To catch the following fish and crayfish: Salmon, Sea-Trout, Burbot, Brook Lamprey, Bitterling, Weatherfish, Spined Loach, Crucian Carp, Spirlin, Minnow, Nobel Crayfish, Stone Crayfish, Freshwater pearl mussel, Unio tumidis, Unio crassus (protected species).
